Obituary of Robert Eugene Richards

Robert “Bobby” Eugene Richards, husband of 48 years to Joanne Fowler Richards, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 31, 2021. Mr. Richards was born in Grantsville, WV to the late Eula Katherine Hosey Richards and Sheridan “Shird” Richards. Bobby attended Hodges Church of God, and for over 25 years he served in the cafeteria at the Church of God Camp Ground during youth camp every summer. He also enjoyed going to the mountains, reading and watching westerns. Bobby was known for his sense of humor and making people laugh. He never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by his family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Ann Richards and Jessie Richards; a son, Tony Rogers and wife Eden; a brother, Kenny Richards and wife Tracy; a sister in-law, Cheryl Richards; two grandchildren, Tony Rogers II and Jennifer Hale; three grandchildren at heart, Hudson Owings, Preston Owings, and Karlee Morris; four great-grandchildren, Anthony Rogers III, Brooklyn Hale, Holly Rogers, and Ella Rogers; and an extended family that he loved dearly “the Fowler family”. He was predeceased by a brother, Roger Richards; and three sisters, Doris Lanzo, Carol Hovey, and Joann Dawson. A Celebration of Life will be 6 o’clock Thursday at Fletcher Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Jimmy Patterson. The family will receive friends follow the service from 7-8:30pm.
