Obituary of Wade Smith

Charles Wade Smith, 84, widower of Irene Whitmire Smith, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Mr. Smith was born in Fountain Inn to the late Charles Alvin Smith and Alice Tollison Smith. He retired from Woodside Mills-Beatie Plant after 50 years of service and was a life time member of Hillside Baptist Church. Wade was an honorary member of the Coon Hunting Club of Fountain Inn and enjoyed working on cars. Surviving are two sons, Everett Smith and Carl Smith with wife Gail; a daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Peters; a sister, Margie Land; five grandchildren, April Gross with husband Kurt, Brandy Lowery with husband Sam, Kevin Smith, Brittany Ware with husband Mac, and Shawna Stone; ten great-grandchildren, Tristen Gross, Nathan Gross, Skyler Collier, Kayla Collier, Bonnie Collier, Dylan Smith, Aiden Gross, Issac Stone, Mackenzie Ware, and Ashlynn Lowery. A Celebration of Wade’s life will be 12 noon Monday at Hillside Baptist Church. The family will receive friends an hour prior.
