"Hello good looking" is the first thing I would say to Jerry over the last several months when we would visit. He would always say 'who' or 'where'. I am so grateful that I got to spend the last few seconds of his life with him. He is where he has longed to be - with his Heavenly Father, his wife Carol, and his youngest son David. We will miss you tremendously but rejoice in knowing where you are and that you are in no more aches and pains, only joy and peace. We love you.

It is not that I have lost my big brother; instead, it is that he has gained a birth in the Glorious Environment, to which all of us should devote our beings to attain. In our numerous meetings during his pronounced illness, he would muster a weak smile and say "I can't wait to be with my Lord, wife and son." Jerry loved his family, friends and country. He served as an Air Policeman n the U.S. Air Force for four years, the last three in Fontainebleau, France not far from the Berlin Wall during the Cold War. While viewing Jerry's records to help create an obituary, I learned that Jerry was selected as the "outstanding airman" of his unit: he never told me. Being reared on a mill village during the textile industry hay days offered numerous risks for a young lad but Jerry constantly showed me how to run the course. Jerry was many things to many people. When I picked up a new "bad word," Jerry would quickly show me how to remedy the situation....and it really hurt. Jerry was my mentor and guiding light, and I will always be indebted to him.

My Deepest condolences to Mr Patterson's family. I met Mr Patterson many years ago, I remember seeing him when i first started working at coach restaurant a very quiet man who bothered no one. one day he was sat in my section and a Beautiful friendship was made. while he sat and ate his Breakfast we would have the best conversations we talked about his family, and me being from Michigan he had told me about his son that resides also in Michigan, about serving in Korea which my ex father in law had also. The last time i saw my Friend was about 2 months ago i offered to come cook and clean for him, He was so worried about taking family time away from me and my kids . I explained to him that he was my family he smiled and said to me, this will probably be the last time he would be in the restaurant because of his health,. i told bim i would be over that evening so he could show me what needs to be done, sadly i was never able to find his home. that was the last time i saw or heard. from him. My heart is sadden but i have to believe Mr patterson new i was not some waitress and trusted me and i hope he knows what impact he has made in my life. i never got to meet his wife but i can a sure you he was ready to see her and their son. its been such a beautiful time having a beautiful soul in my life.May God be with all during this time of grief.

It was an honor to call Jerry Patterson my Uncle. He was a man that I looked up to and respected and a man I loved like a Father. We love you and will greatly miss you Uncle Jerry. I rejoice in knowing that you are at home and are in the presence of the Lord and are reunited with Carol, David, your Mom and Dad and brother and sisters.
