Obituary of Jerry Bruce Patterson

Jerry Bruce Patterson, 88, widower of Carol Hale Patterson, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 9, 2021. Mr. Patterson was born in Piedmont, SC to the late John Wesley Patterson and Eva Azilee Patterson. He graduated from West Gantt High School in 1951. Jerry was a veteran of the US Air Force. During the Korean War, he was stationed in Fontainebleau, France. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed fishing and wood-working. He was a member of Clear Spring Baptist Church and the Golden Strip Bass Masters. Surviving is a son, Dr. Daniel Patterson (Alison) of Michigan; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Patterson of Easley; three grandsons, Keith Patterson (Amy) of Easley, Shane Patterson and David Patterson (Libby) of Ohio; two brothers, Billy Patterson (Barbara) and Herman Patterson (Delona); five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, David Patterson; three infant sisters, Nellie D. Patterson, Willie Mae Patterson and Pearl Patterson; two sisters, Azilee Mease and Shirley Wilkinson and a brother, George Patterson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Caris Hospice for their care of Jerry during this time. Funeral Services, with military honors, will be held 11:30am Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service officiated by Rev. David Shiflet. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Entombment will follow at Graceland East Memorial Park. Memorials can be made to Caris Hospice, 111 Smith Hines Road, Greenville, SC 29607 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105. It is suggested that attendees wear a mask during the service.
