Emma and I grew up together in Elko,SC. We spent the summers going swimming in a stream, called CowFord, and would stop at a grocery store and get a Pepsi and peanuts. My grandfather always took us. We went to Elko Baptist church and were involved in all the activities. There were six girls who went to the elementary school in Elko and then on to Williston-Elko High School. After graduation we kept in touch through the years. Emma was a wonderful friend, always happy and helping everyone, a wonderful Christian lady. She raised a great family and loved everyone. She was a dear friend and will be missed. Looking forward to seeing you in heaven. Miss you and love you, Martha Ellen Lever Tompkins

I'm so thankful that I knew Emma, she was such a blessing to me. She was my spiritual mom and such love that came from her, she shared the love of God with me and others. I know she is dancing right now in heaven!

Emma was a Spiritual Mama and friend to me and everyone that she came in contact with. She's now dancing and singing with Jesus! Our condolences to the family until you rejoice with her again. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

I only had the privilege of meeting Mrs. Bowie back in August of this year, but I feel like I have known her far longer from all of the beautiful stories her loving daughter Janet has shared. Even though she was in decline when we met, the beauty of her soul and the sweetness of her heart shone through so brightly! She was so blessed to have the love and support of her family with her in these last years and especially in these final days. What a godly family she raised.
The celebration of her life devoted in service to our Lord is both bittersweet and so precious. She will certainly hear, "Well done good and faithful servant" as she enters into His kingdom. Condolences to the family and friends on their temporary separation from her in this life - and praise to God for the eternal life together that is promised to all believers.
