Stevie was my cousin his Mom was my Mom’s sister. Aunt Ellen and Uncle Heyward were only “up the path” when I was growing up. I spent considerable time with Billy, Stevie and Shelia. I was included on trips to show chickens, fun times fishing, many many meals and always love filled hugs.
Losing someone you grow up with is like losing a piece of your history. Stevie was always looking out for me as an adult too. Interested in my life adventures and present when I needed a touch of home.
I know his love for his family was demonstrated daily and in his teaching his son’s the ways of the world as evident in their care for their Mom, home and their faith.
I hurt at this loss but smile thinking of all the kid stuff we did, adult talks and the fact he no longer has physical pain.
Stevie- RIP you are missed but certainly live on in all of us.
