Obituary of Steve Lee Garrison

Steve L. Garrison, 65, passed into Heaven unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, January 18, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife of 27 years, Kathleen McEntyre Garrison, and two sons, Seth & Sam Garrison. Steve was born in Greenville to the late Heyward Arthur & Ellen Sheriff Garrison. In addition to his wife and sons, he is survived by a sister, Sheila Garrison Messer and husband, Nelson; nieces Brandy Garrison Hood (Keith) and Jill Garrison Joseph (Johnroy); a nephew Justin Messer; great-nephews Austin Page, Collin Hood and Asa Joseph; great-nieces Taylor Hood and Noa Grace Joseph. Steve was predeceased by a brother, Billy A. Garrison. Steve graduated from Greenville Technical College with a degree in Mechanical Design and worked for Cryovac for nearly 30 years, retiring in 2009. He had many hobbies from furniture building to golf to fishing to handiwork around the house, but most of all he loved taking care of his chickens. Steve and his late father were breeders of exhibition poultry for over 60 years, showing Cochin Bantams all across the United States. Steve was most proud of his two boys so anyone wishing to honor his memory may make a donation to support the First Presbyterian Academy Track & Field Team from where both boys graduated and Seth now teaches and coaches.
