When I moved back into the old family home and returned to Clear Springs Baptist Mrs. Hughes would come over to the pew put her hand on my shoulder. She never forgot my name. Then she started to talk to me about this old house. Mrs. Betty said fir a time she lived in this house. I knew some who lived but never realized her family was one of them. She always said she wanted to visit to see how it looked. I told her it was much the same. I know she had some great stories to tell. Prayers for her lovely family. Mrs. Hughes was one of the special ladies at Clear Springs to welcome my mother when she joined the church. Her sweet smile & kind words will be missed. Susan & Dennis Hutchinson

Three mamas raised me and my brothers on Jonesville Road: our own….and Miss Bonnie….and Miss Betty. We cried when Jesus called Miss Bonnie first….then, oh my heart, our mama was next, not even two years later. But we still had Miss Betty. Just knowing she was still here with us after Miss Bonnie and Mama died, made me happy. So it was with a very saddened heart that I read Thursday morning first thing that she was gone. How we loved her laughter and gentle spirit...and chocolate-filled sugar cookies! Will never forget sweet Miss Betty! Praying for all of you...Ronnie, Jennie and Nancy....as you and your families struggle with grief and separation.Thank God it is not forever! Love to you all, Kathy Burdette Walker Robby Burdette.

Dear Nancy, Jennie, and Ronnie, Last Thursday when Jesus called your Mom home she heard the words all Christian souls yearn to hear...."WELL DONE my good and faithful servant! WELCOME HOME!" Her life was well done. She had a servant's heart and wanted everyone to be happy. The atmosphere she and Mr. Jim created in your home was always warm, kind, happy and peaceful. It was one of my favorite places to be. I'll never forget her sweet little laugh....and all of that good food. She was loved by so many people and there was never a negative word that could be said about Mrs. Betty. What a legacy that is. I loved her so much. I know your hearts are broken and my prayers are with you. She is happy and already trying to teach everyone in Heaven how to cook. Love you all! Debbie Hamby Few

Jennie and Nancy, Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your mom. Even though I didn’t know her I know that she must have been a wonderful person because of the beautiful daughters she raised.
