One of my favorite memories of my mother-in-law was during the family gathering we had at Hilton Head Island to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. It was full of fun and games and family bonding. Her marriage to my father-in-law is an inspiration to Leah and I. I will miss her.. --Dennis

We will miss our Nani so much. She was always fun to visit and go on vacation with. We especially enjoyed playing board games with her. As we got older the games got more fun because we knew that she was not just letting us win! We also loved to hear the stories she told about Germany. She had such an interesting life. One day we hope to see Freital, Dresden and the Baltic Sea. --Hannah, Abigail and Sarah

My Mom was happiest when she was holding a baby in her arms. I can easily say that she shaped me into the person I am today. I love our German heritage and the unique perspective she brought to our family with the interesting stories and customs. She was the matriarch of our family. I don't know what we will do without her. I miss her so much. --Leah
