Met Joe Ann at Harmony Baptist Church in 2011. I have always called her granny, she was in a play at church where she played the granny. We worked together at Laurens Crisis Center along with others from church. She took a trip with me to my family in Tennessee one time. She was willing to help where ever she could and had a generous heart. I will miss her so much. She would pray for everyone and kept the prayer chain going. We love you granny! Pam, John, and Heath.

We met Ms Doster when her husband and my dad were in Greenville Hospital in late 1990’s. Our mom, sister, and I stayed many days and nights waiting on visiting hours to see my dad (open heart surgery) and the Doster family was always there, too. I’m sorry I don’t remember why Mr Doster was hospitalized. We struck up a friendship and enjoyed sharing stories. Ms Doster got my mom started on the word puzzle books, as she whiled away her time there. My mom and I visited her several times at her home afterwards (Mr Doster had passed) and we were welcomed as if we had known each other for years. She was a very sweet lady and enjoyed talking about her canning and crocheting. Both of my parents have passed away now, but you all will be in my prayers for comfort and peace during this time. I will miss you greatly. Talking about the weather and family. Hearing about the fried apple pies you made, but never got to taste. I wished we could have come to see you more often.
Love, your niece

From the blankets she crocheted with her own hands during the beginning of mine and Heath’s marriage, to the times our children snuggled up next to her in church. She always had a smile, a hug, and kind words to share with us. We will miss her very much, she was much adored by us.
Love,
Heath, Jennie, Madelyn and John Baldwin

Granny... Thank you.
Thank you for being the perfect example of a grandmother. You took me in when I was only a few weeks old and loved me without hesitation. Thank you for all the meals you cooked for me, all the baths in the sink even though I'd cry when you'd take me out, thank you for all the time spent on the porch playing with Roly Poly bugs, all the times in my little barbie tent, all the times picking vegetables and figs, all the times I watched you crochet blankets.. Basically, thank you for everything. I hope heaven is just as beautiful as you are - inside and out. Grateful would be an understatement. I love you - Danielle Thackston.
