Obituary of Rhett Hand

Burnett Rhett Hand, 84, husband of Wilma Jean Terry Hand for 61 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Mr. Hand was born in Spartanburg County to the late Benny Gee Hand and Della Shaw Leopard Hand. He was the owner of Hand Fence Company. Rhett enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and trail riding. His lifelong passion was raising, trading, and selling farm animals. However, his greatest joy in life was being PaPa to his grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons and their wives, Danny and Angie Hand, Kevin and Amanda Hand, and Ryan and Trisha Hand; six grandchildren, Tyler Hand with wife Virginia, R.J. Hand, Porter Hand, Crawford Hand, Derrick Colley and Zeno Colley; and two great-grandchildren, Amelia Hand and Felix Colley. He was predeceased by a son, Jason Hand; and five brothers, Luveis Hand, Robert Hand, Arwell Hand, Avondale Hand, and Eston Hand. A Celebration of Rhett’s Life will be 3 o’clock Sunday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Simpsonville City Cemetery.
