Sharon is my cousin. We had the best childhood growing up together in Hickory, NC. We spent the night at her house / my house. . Played in the woods , creeks, rode our bikes all over the place. Our mothers, Helen and Aunt Jerry would take turns dropping us off at Kool Park Pool most every day of the summer. They’d pick us up when it was time for supper. Cousins from oot would also visit in the summer and join us for our summer fun. Our parents also dropped us off at the movies most every weekend . Hotel Hickory was right next to the movie theater. We would go into the hotel and ride the elevator up and down , exploring. I don’t know why we never got thrown out of there. Sharon and I grew up and stayed in touch through the years . I loved her very much and will always cherish the time we had together.
