Obituary of Jean Bryant
Nell Jean Smith Bryant, 86, widow of Rev. Furman Haley Bryant, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
Mrs. Bryant was born in Waterloo to the late David Casper Smith and Grace Hicklin Smith. She was a member of Praise Cathedral Church in Greer. Jean was a teacher and writer of discipleship literature. She and Rev. Furman loved their Boston Terriers immensely. They bought a 2nd home at Lake Okeechobee in Florida where they spent half of their retirement days fishing and cooking. Jean was a comedian at heart and enjoyed travel.
She is survived by many adoring friends and church family.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be 1 o’clock Friday at the Mauldin Church of God. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be 3 o’clock Friday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Church of God Home for Children, 1815 N.E. Main Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
