Obituary of Allen Spillers

Jimmie Allen Spillers, 76, husband of the late Marilyn Kay Lancaster Spillers, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

 

Mr. Spillers was born in Greenville, SC to the late Homer Andrew Spillers and Sarah Belle Brown Spillers.  He was a lifelong member of Clear Spring Baptist Church where he served several terms as a deacon.  He was a veteran of the US Army.  Allen worked many years at the Laurens Proving Grounds for Michelin before retiring with 30 years of service.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving, and watching Westerns.  Allen was a member of Simpsonville Masonic Lodge #311. 

 

Surviving are a daughter, Angie Robinson with husband Jason; a son, Drew Spillers with wife Heather; a sister, Susan Carr with husband Stan; a special friend, Lois Owens; eight grandchildren, Tyler Spillers with fiancé Brittany, Alisa Spillers, Hunter Spillers, Trace Robinson, Sydney Robinson, Graydon Spillers, Kaiyah Spillers, and Breana Burch with fiancé Mitchell; and six great-grandchildren, Landon, Laiklen, Carter, Levi, Colt and Alena.

 

A Celebration of Allen’s Life will be 2 o’clock Wednesday at Clear Spring Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. David Shiflet.  Burial, with Military Honors and Masonic Rites, will be in Cannon Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.

 

Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.  The family would like to express a heartfelt “Thank You” to our beloved caregivers Mellissa and Brandy.  Your compassionate care for Daddy will be forever cherished.  You are family – and we love you both.
