Dear Susie,
I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Clifford. I don’t know what to say.
My fondest memory of Clifford is one day Mama and I had stopped by the station to get gas. The car had barely stopped when Clifford came running out to the car. He was so excited he was practically bouncing up and down!
“We got a baby! We got a baby and we’re going to Charleston to pick her up!”
Mama, Clifford and I sat there and cried because we were all so happy!
Clifford loved his family, his church and his friends.
I remember Jim telling me about how much fun they had when he and Clifford drove trucks up to West Virginia on a mission trip with Lyn King and a bunch of other people from the church.
Clifford would do anything in the world for anybody.
Simpsonville won’t be the same without him.
I’m so sorry I didn’t know about you losing your best friend until just now.
You’ve got my phone number.
Call me anytime and let’s go out to eat.
Please give my love to Laci, CJ and Lily. They were lucky to have Clifford for a father and grandfather. I know how much he loved all of you.
I love you, Susie. I’m sorry I wasn’t there to comfort you.
Love always,
Roxie

I'm so sad to learn of Clifford's passing. He was a gentle and kind man who enjoyed talking with people and sharing his time. You couldn't ask for better. God bless him and Susie and all who knew him. Take care of him, Lord; he's home.

Clifford grew up across the street from each other. We never missed seeing each other more than a hand full of days in those 12 years. When ever my mind goes back to growing up on Planet Circle, Jip is always there. My dad gave Clifford the nickname of Jip (I have no idea why),but being Clifford he took it with a smile.
I fail in coming up with words to describe my great friend.. Kind, funny, gentle, inquisitive, genuine and so much more!. God bless you and hold you in the Palm of His Hand until we meet again.

I sold auto parts for 40 years and Clifford and I go way back. I sold him and his father Wade parts at their Exxon station on Main St. since the early seventies up until it closed with Clifford and Susie managing and renting the Ryder trucks. A lot of memories in that now gone building. Clifford had such a kind and laid back personality and was very easy to talk to. I always looked forward to my weekly visits at the shop chatting with him.
Susie, I know that you will miss him terrribly. Praying that you will gain comfort in cherishing all the memories that you two had for all those years.
