Obituary of Clifford Jennings

Wade Clifford Jennings, Jr., 74, husband of Susie Thackston Jennings for 54 years, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Mr. Jennings was born in Greenville to the late Wade Clifford Jennings, Sr. and Mildred Agnes Bayne Jennings.  He was a member of First Baptist Simpsonville and a graduate of Greenville Technical College.  Clifford was a longtime employee of Killian Auto Pros and a car-racing enthusiast.  He was a fan of NASCAR and the NHRA, having attended several drag racing events in Commerce, GA over the years.  Clifford was a family man and cherished being “Papa” to his grandchildren.  He was a people person that could strike up a conversation with anyone.  He had a genuine interest in learning about people that he met.  His hobbies included vegetable farming and providing food and water for bluebirds. 

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Lacy Strak; and two grandchildren, C.J. Jones and Lillie Strak.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Martha Ann Shelton and Kathy Burroughs; and a granddaughter, Anna.

The family will receive friends between 4 – 6 o’clock Wednesday at Fletcher Funeral Service.
