I've got fond memories of Lloyd around bluegrass events, pickins' and festivals. He was always kind, and was always quick to show you a chord or run on the guitar or mandolin. He was a genuine man. He was scholar and gentlemen in my book, and surely will be missed. Fly high my friend.

I met Lloyd 20 years ago when I moved to Simpsonville from Pittsburgh, he called me the yankee from Pittsburgh, how I will miss our talks when I got my hair cut, I’m glad I got to talk one last time when I stopped to see you at your wife’s house, I will miss you my friend but I know your not in pain anymore and your in the Lords house, until I see you again in heaven my friend. Q: How did you meet Lloyd?
A: Moved to Simpsonville from Buffalo, NY in 2013. Met Loyd shortly afterwards. When I told where I was from, I was known as "Yank" and was greeted that way when going for a haircut. My last conversation with Loyd was discussing life after death. Loyd knew Jesus as his Savior and was at piece with going home to be with Him for eternity.

Lloyd was a unique and one of a kind man. There are not many like him anymore. Lloyd was that guy that if he was your friend you really didn’t need any others. Much love to you Lloyd, you taught and showed me a lot of things and you are missed.

As his mail carrier for 2 1/2 years, I remember Lloyd as a very kind and giving man. He used to talk to me about everything. I will definitely miss those days. My condolences to his loved ones, y’all are in our prayers.

Lloyd graced our mill house café with his musical talent, subtle humor, and gentle personality. We were fortunate to have known him. Thank you, Lloyd, for shining on the Yum-Yum Snack Shop & Café. ✝️

I remember walking across the street from the hardware store many times to get a haircut and to see who was picking guitars in his shop. I’ll always remember Lloyd answering the phone when I was in there by saying “Llllllloyd’s of Simpsonburg” and then answering somebody’s question and getting right back to cutting hair without missing a beat. He was a true Simpsonville classic.
