Q: What will you never forget about Deborah?
A: I met Debbie as the nurse for her beloved family member. During my nursing visits, I saw first-hand Debbie’s loving and devoted care. After each visit she would walk me to my car and I would enjoy nice chats with her. Debbie’s loving heart was like an open book. During one of our last conversations, Debbie shared about her sister Cindy who died unexpectedly and far too young. She shared that ever since her sister’s death, she would say this prayer every night. This is the same prayer my mother would sing to me every night when I was a child:
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take
Debbie, I wish we could have had more time to spend together. I look forward to seeing you again in heaven.
