Rev. Dr. Isaiah “Ike” Golden Jr., 72, husband of Elizabeth Ausberry-Golden for 18 years, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 31, 2020. Rev. Dr. Golden was born in Reading, PA to the late Isaiah Golden Sr. and Willie C. Burdine. He was an alumnus of North Carolina A&T State University, and earned his Doctorate of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Christian Ministries. He was ordained as a Reverend at Bethany A.M.E. Church in Harrisburg, Pa in 2006. Ike was a recipient of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. 50-year member award, the Lifetime Humanitarian Award presented by the Upstate Sports Coalition, and inducted into the A&T Sports Hall of Fame. After more than 30 years, Ike retired as a Director with the State of Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. He was the owner of Golden Consulting Services (GCS) whose mission was to mentor young men to become future leaders of society. He served as a board member of the Mansfield Plantation in Georgetown, SC, that was once home to his ancestors that is now a historical site. Ike was a member of Beulah Christian Fellowship Church and a former member of New Beginnings Christian Ministry where he served as Director for transitional housing. He was a volunteer minister at Carlyle and Diamond nursing homes where he shared the word of God. Rev. Dr. Isaiah “Ike” Golden Jr. was a beacon in the community and a shining light in the lives of those who knew him and a blessing to those in which he crossed paths. Surviving, in addition to his wife “Peachis”, are eight daughters, Vanessa Key, Robyn Golden, Rosezetta Spiller (Terry), Michelle Golden-Ingram (Sinclair), Tanya Diaz-Cruz (Jon), Cherie Davis-Knowles (Lennox), Courtney Golden-Williams (Rodney), and Nayirah Vashon; a brother, Larry Burdine (Carolyn); three sisters, Maydine Burdine-Luster, Diane Burdine and predeceased by Arlene Burdine; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Ike’s Life will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Mansfield Plantation, 1776 Mansfield Road Georgetown, S.C. 29440.
