I have known John almost all of my life, we were at Fountain Inn High School together. A few short years later, I was a fresh young Police officer in Fountain Inn, and on a Sunday Afternoon, I met with John down town,, and he told me that he had found where his car was that had been stolen. He got in my police car and away we went to find it. We went down South Main Street, There wasn't much traffic, so with blue lights on I started to pass a car full of teenagers about where the Piggly Wiggly store was, the car with the teenagers , made a left hand turn in front of us.(with no turn siginal) I swerved to avoid hitting them. My car went down in a culvert, and back out a and hit a utility pole and came to a stop . Thank God no one except me, was hurt. I was out of work for two months. John did however got his car back. We stayed friend for many years. Somtime we would have a laugh about that. To the family my heartfelt sympathy. May God Bless each of you. John was a very fine man, and will be miss by all that knew him.
