Dearest Blair Family,
I was so saddened to hear of Steve’s passing. He and I became friends when he had WFIS. I handled the advertising for my dad’s insurance agency, Charles Stoddard Insurance Agency. My dad had the highest regard for him also. Steve was so much fun, I really enjoyed knowing him and working with him. I pray that God will help to ease your pain in the difficult days ahead.
With deepest condolences,
Dot Stoddard Turner

Cathy & I send our deepest sympathy to Thelma, and certainly the children and grandchildren of this really good man who will be greatly missed. Steve and Thelma met while both were working for Cathy's dad at his radio station in Whitesburg, KY, the same place I had met Cathy when I was working for him as well. There has always been a bond between the Blair family and ours, even though the miles and the years gave us limited access. But true friends care deeply, with or without that contact. We send our love and condolences to all. And we know Steve is looking down wearing a pair of high end headphones, sitting in front of a shiny but vintage RCA microphone. God bless and rest him until we all meet again. Cathy & Craig Scott Savannah, GA

I never met Mr. Blair. But I know his son Chris very well and I can attest Mr. Blair (along with Mrs. Blair) raised one heck of a son. I am very sorry for the pain the Blair family is feeling at this time. I am supremely confident that Mr. Blair is with our Father watching with tremendous pride the legacy he left behind in the man, the husband, the father and amazing talent of Chris Blair.

Steve was one of the finest men and broadcasters I ever met. He always had a smile on his face and a radio story to tell. I was honored to call him a friend and mentor.

Steve and our family grew up across the creek from each other. Steve and my brother, Larry Osborne, were always hanging out together. Doyle, Roger, Michael and Larry always played games until dark. Batting rocks or hiding from cars, there was always something happening at Steve's house. Our little neighborhood was a great place to grow up. Steve, his mom and dad, and his grandparents were important people to all of us. Steve was always a great friend.

I remember visiting Steve's radio station when I was just a young boy and watching him broadcast through the glass in the door. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Met Mr. Blair through his son Chris which I have the pleasure of doing the LSU basketball broadcasts with. The way Chris spoke of his father & the relationship they had speaks to the character of Mr. Blair. My prayers to Chris & the entire Blair family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Roger and I were talking about STEVE last night and reminiscing about the past When Steve got his permit and was practicing to drive he would drive up down the lane and would pick up all of us boy's so we could ride with him up and down the lane in front of Margie's house . Steve would show movies on Saturday 's . It cost 25cents to see the movie and popcorn was 5 cents . We played football in the fall basketball in the summer . Steve was just a cousin but more of big brother to Roger and I . We'll miss you here in the mountains big brother . RIP

Steve was a wonderful friend to us. So many great memories of trips together, beach vacations and just being next door neighbors doing the things neighbors do.,

Steve and I were really good friends. We grew up just across railroad tracks from each other. We loved to play in a sand pile with cars and toy soldiers. We played and dressed up like Zorro, along with good cowboys and outlaws. We had football games in the snow and that was a blast. Whiffle ball was played in the field so many days in the summer. Eating cherries right off the tree and they were very good. Rest in peace my friend. Love you very much my childhood buddy.
