Obituary of Linda Faye Buckner Neely

Linda Faye Buckner Neely, 75, widow of Carl Oliver “Butch” Neely, Jr., went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 5, 2021. Mrs. Neely was born in Greenville, SC to Harvey Martin Buckner, Jr. and the late Lucille Stokes Buckner. She was an accomplished pianist who had been a musical guest on WGGS Channel 16, a member of Choraleers Gospel Group and Southern Heart and served as the church pianist for Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Teaching piano and collecting angel figurines were some of her favorite pastimes. In addition to her musical endeavors, Mrs. Neely was a retired administrative assistant for Merrill Lynch. Surviving are two brothers, Larry Buckner and wife Karen, and Dale Buckner and wife Gloria, a sister Gwynna Buckner; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 1pm Tuesday, March 9th at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Graceland West Cemetery.
